Suryashakti Kisan Yojana ( સૂર્યશક્તિ કિસાન યોજના )


Farmer friends, Suryashakti Kisan Yojana has been announced by Gujarat Government last week. Through this scheme, farmers will be able to generate electricity from solar energy in their fields and use the generated electricity in farming. In addition, it will be able to earn extra income by selling the surplus electricity to Vijnigam.

Details of the plan

Farmers will have to reimburse at least five per cent of the total cost but will be able to reimburse if they have to pay more. The higher the amount, the lower the loan will be and the higher the income.


The central and state governments will pay 50 per cent subsidy. On behalf of the farmer, the state government will take the remaining 5% as a cheap interest loan.
The term of the loan will be 7 (seven) years.

One and a half kilowatt solar panel per horse power will be provided. (I.e. 12.5 kW panel will be provided for connection of 10 HP) - 10 x 10 feet space will be required per kilowatt according to solar capacity.



If a farmer wants to install a panel of extra kilowatts, it will be allowed subject to the rules.Electricity generated from additional panels costs Rs. 2.50 per unit. And it will not be eligible for state government subsidy.


A committee of farmers joining the scheme per sky feeder will have to be formed. Sky Feeder will get 12 hours of electricity per day, but farmers who do not join the scheme will get 8 (eight) hours of power supply.The unit that comes into the grid after generating and consuming electricity costs Rs. 2 / - per unit will be paid to the farmer. Out of which Rs. 2.50 per unit will be paid by the power distribution company. The remaining Rs. 2.50 per unit (within the limit of 1000 units per kWh per annum) will be paid to the farmer in the form of subsidy by the State Government.

After the expiry of the 3 year loan period, for the remaining 15 years, for each unit of electricity supplied to the grid, the farmer is paid Rs. 2.50 per unit will be paid.
 


 

Farmer friends benefit from the scheme

Electricity bills will be relieved.

Selling extra electricity to the grid will give the farmer a permanent income.

Only 12 hours power supply will be available during the day. After repaying the loan, the solar system will be owned by the farmer.

Solar panels will be insured by the state government.

Solar system will be guaranteed for 3 years by the maintenance agency.

Solar panels can be replaced by crops on the ground below. The height of the panel can also be increased if desired.
