Account holder Farmer Accidental insurance Scheme

The Government of Gujarat has started the Accountant Farmer Accidental Death / Permanent Disability Assistance Scheme for the benefit of the farmers of the state from the auspicious day of 9th January 19th. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to the heirs in case of accidental death or permanent disability of the account holder farmer. This scheme is 100% state government assistance scheme. Under this scheme, insurance premium is paid by the state government on behalf of all the account holders of the state.

A scheme to provide financial protection to the farmer's account holder by providing insurance benefits to his family is currently under Gujarat Collective Group (Janata Accident Insurance Scheme). Implemented through the Director of Insurance from 01/04/2009.

In addition to the account holder farmer, the first surviving heir (son / daughter) of the account holder farmer has been included in the account holder farmer accident insurance scheme by the state government from 01/7/2017.

Conditions for availing the benefits of the scheme

The deceased or permanently disabled person should have held land in his own name in joint or individual name.
Death or permanent disability must be present due to accident.
Cases of natural death and suicide are not covered under the scheme.
In case of heir, the deceased account holder should be the first surviving heir (son / daughter) of the farmer

Benefit of the scheme

In this scheme, in case of death of the account holder farmer, the benefit will be given to the heir of the deceased account holder farmer and if the account holder farmer becomes disabled, the benefit will be given to the account holder farmer in the following details.

In case of death / permanent, complete disability due to accident Rs. 1,00,000 / -
In case of loss of two eyes or two limbs or arms / legs due to an accident, Rs. 1,00,000 / - (100% complete eye sight in case of eye, above the wrist in case of hand and above the knee in case of foot.)
In case of loss of one eye and one limb due to accident, Rs. 1,00,000 / -
In case of loss of one eye or one limb due to accident, Rs. 50,000 / -

The following persons will be the heirs of the beneficiaries under this insurance scheme in the following order.

Spouse: In their absence
His son / daughter: In his absence
His parents: in his absence
His grandson / granddaughter: In the absence of the a, b, c
Unmarried or widowed or abandoned sister living with the beneficiary and living with them
Inheritors declared under the Inheritance Act applicable to the beneficiary concerned except in the above case and in the disputed case.

How to avail the benefits of this scheme

In case of death of the account holder farmer, the heir of the account holder farmer and in case of disability, the account holder farmer should submit the application in the prescribed form along with the following instrumental documents within 30 days from the date of death to the concerned District Agriculture Officer, District Panchayat.

Rs. Indemnity bond with notary / registrar on stamp papers of Rs. 100 / -

Under this scheme, from 9th January, 19th to the year 2016-17, a total of 12.5 claims were approved and Rs. 1912.00 lakh insurance assistance has been paid to the heirs of the account holder farmer.
